CSG Guangxi Power Grid Corporation and CSG Lancang-Mekong International Co., Ltd. jointly launched a demonstration class for China-Laos energy, power exchange and discussion in Nanning, capital city of South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Sept 19.

The seven-day power technology exchange and discussion event drew the attendance of 16 managerial and technological employees from the state-run Electricite du Laos (EDL). They focused on power transmission and transformation and held talks over many aspects of power technologies such as personnel training and evaluation management, standardized production management, safety management, live working and the application of drones.

"The power technology exchange event is very good. Such advanced technologies as lightening protection, drone patrolling, real-time monitoring of production sites, and fault location are highly demanded in Laos. I look forward to attending more such technological exchange events," said Sonexay Poinsot, vice-manager of EDL's northern power management department.

The technology exchange and discussion event was a great exploration for China and ASEAN countries to promote their exchanges over power technologies. It will strengthen China-Laos communication and cooperation in frontier fields like new energy and smart power grid, build broader platforms for Chinese and Lao high-caliber power technicians through joint incubation, contribution and sharing, and accelerate the building of the ASEAN bloc into a highland of talent cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
